Questions / Licensing and G1

What are the passenger rules for a G1 driver?

Short answer

Every occupant must have a working seat belt, and you must have a qualified accompanying driver in the front passenger seat. The number of passengers cannot exceed the available seat belts.

Make it practical

What to do

Keep early practice drives quiet and simple. A car full of enthusiastic cousins is a social event, not an ideal first lesson.

Easy to miss

The common trap

Letting a passenger distract, coach or contradict the accompanying driver.

Turn knowledge into a habit

How to practise it

Put the official requirement into a simple timeline, including eligibility, waiting periods and your expiry date. Administrative surprises are rarely educational.

When a rule, road sign or examiner instruction conflicts with an internet tip, use the official rule and the safe decision. The internet has many talents; wearing a reflective examiner vest is not one of them.
