Control before cleverness
The test is about consistently safe observation, speed, spacing and control—not showing off. Make every check visible without exaggerating it.
Skills to expect
Exact routes and manoeuvres vary, but the G2 commonly samples everyday traffic skills.
- Turns, lane choice and right-of-way
- Lane changes and mirror-blind-spot checks
- Parallel, roadside or uphill/downhill parking
- Three-point turns
- Stops, intersections and residential speed control
A simple practice standard
Do not book because you completed a fixed number of lessons. Book when you can drive for 30–40 minutes in unfamiliar local traffic without instructor prompts or a safety intervention.
Use the official rule for the final word.
