Questions / Nerves and retests

Answer first · reviewed August 2026

I failed my G2 test. What should I do next?

Short answer

Review the result sheet, identify the safety pattern behind each mark and practise those situations in varied locations before rebooking. Ontario requires a waiting period between attempts.

Make it practical

What to do

Group feedback into observation, right-of-way, speed, position and control, then build two or three focused mock drives.

Easy to miss

The common trap

Switching centres immediately without fixing the behaviour that followed you out of the first parking lot.

Turn knowledge into a habit

How to practise it

Use one mock-drive routine and one written improvement list. A smaller plan gives anxiety fewer loose objects to throw around the cabin.

When a rule, road sign or examiner instruction conflicts with an internet tip, use the official rule and the safe decision. The internet has many talents; wearing a reflective examiner vest is not one of them.
