How do I reschedule or cancel an Ontario road test?

Short answer

Use the official DriveTest booking dashboard to change the location, date or time, or to cancel. DriveTest currently requires at least 48 hours’ notice to avoid losing the prepaid road-test fee.

Make it practical

What to do

Sign in with your driver’s licence number and expiry date, choose the booked test, confirm the change and save the new email confirmation. If your licence is expired or the online system will not accept the change, contact DriveTest.

Easy to miss

The common trap

Changing or cancelling inside 48 hours and expecting the prepaid fee to transfer automatically.

Turn knowledge into a habit

How to practise it

Rehearse the logistics once: route to the centre, check-in information, vehicle controls and the backup plan if the test cannot proceed.

When a rule, road sign or examiner instruction conflicts with an internet tip, use the official rule and the safe decision. The internet has many talents; wearing a reflective examiner vest is not one of them.
