Questions / Booking and test day

Answer first · reviewed August 2026

What do I need to bring to my road test?

Short answer

Bring your current driver’s licence, corrective lenses if required, an eligible safe vehicle and anything DriveTest specifies in the confirmation. G-test applicants must also accurately declare required highway experience.

Make it practical

What to do

The common trap

Assuming an instructor or family member is carrying your documents.

Turn knowledge into a habit

How to practise it

Rehearse the logistics once: route to the centre, check-in information, vehicle controls and the backup plan if the test cannot proceed.

When a rule, road sign or examiner instruction conflicts with an internet tip, use the official rule and the safe decision. The internet has many talents; wearing a reflective examiner vest is not one of them.
